5 Reasons Why The "8020" Is The Perfect Cycling Backpack

After collecting over $300,000 with a successful crowdfunding campaign, Expedition / Units Project 8020 is now available, and it tick all the boxes for the best commuting and urban cycling backpack in 2023; here are our 5 reasons why.

01

Protection from the Elements

One of the biggest benefits of the 8020 Waterproof Backpack is that it's, well, 100% waterproof!

This means that you can ride your bike through rain, snow, sleet, and hail without worrying about your belongings getting wet.

The waterproof material and roll-top closure ensure that everything inside stays dry, no matter how wet it is outside.

Thanks to the high frequency welding process, the backpack is completely waterproof even when submerged.

You can confidently carry on with your activities without worrying about water damage.

02

Comfort

One of the biggest benefits of the Cycling with a heavy backpack can be uncomfortable, but the 8020 is designed with comfort in mind.

The bag weight only 2.1 lbs (1 Kg). It features padded shoulder straps and a breathable back panel, which help distribute weight evenly and prevent sweat buildup.

This means you can wear the bag all day without feeling weighed down or uncomfortable.

03

Versatility

The 8020 Waterproof Backpack is a versatile bag that's perfect for both urban commutes and outdoor adventures.

The bag is made from durable materials that can withstand wear and tear, making it a great choice for both daily use and weekend excursions.

Plus, the bag's minimalist design means it's suitable for both casual and professional settings.

04

Capacity

The 8020 has a capacity of 23 liters, and can expand up to 28 litres, thanks to the roll top design.

It's s plenty of space for your daily essentials.

The bag has several compartments and pockets, including a padded laptop sleeve, a front pocket with a zipper, and two side pockets.

This means you can easily organize and access your belongings without having to dig through a jumbled mess.

05

Sustainability

Finally, the 8020 Waterproof Backpack is a sustainable choice for environmentally conscious cyclists.

The bag is made with AWPE 600 (All Weather Performance Ecofabric), a fabric developed by Expedition / Units and obtained from the recycling of plastic bottles.

The company is committed to reducing waste and minimizing their environmental impact.

This means you can feel good about your purchase knowing that you're supporting a company that cares about sustainability.

Expedition / Units donates part of its profits to the "Plastic Exchange" initiative, which strives to clean the island of Bali in Indonesia from the accumulation of plastic.

In exchange for plastic collected by the villagers, they hand out rice.

Best backpack ever!!

I have tried too many different types and there is always something that I don’t like about them; this one is super comfortable on your back and fits perfectly; at the beginning fells kind of big but after a few days you get used to it. Now it’s my everyday backpack. Lot of compliments at work… good job guys!

Nice quality. Not as functional as hoped

Good quality construction. However, I had hoped to use this bag for rainy commute days, but it is too difficult to access the main compartment and even the front zipper (which is very small). Not much organizational components to the bag. Return policy requires the plastic bag to be in tact which means I’m unable to return it.
