Love the subtle improvements to the straps from my previous one. I would prefer that the inner laptop pocket was a bit more sturdy as it snags everything I put inside the pack but otherwise, it's awesome.

Found my bag to be surprisingly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. Waterproofing was great, no water was getting through the material and it wasn’t until I held the bag underwater for an extended time that a little water worked its way in through the roll top. After using it several times, my only wish was that the bag had a pocket on the outside for a water bottle so it isn’t necessary to open the bags in wet conditions to get a drink. Overall, a fantastic product that I’m glad I bought.

Amazing quality! Both the backpack and the wallet. The backpack is an ideal comfortable size for a 6’2” 190lbs guy. Happy to find some pockets inside including a laptop sleeve, and a bottom reinforcing panel. The hook-and-loop main closure was an additional pleasant surprise — rugged strong seal.

Top quality materials and seams welding. Honestly, the key selling points for the pack and the wallet were the recycled materials and thoughtful design.

Both pack and wallet will be my EDC in Thailand during monsoon seasons. Many thanks for the great products.

Hiked Mount Rogers, Virginia yesterday. After 9 miles the pack was still comfortable on my back. I love it's simple design and sleek appearance. I'm going to put it through the ringer.

Was introduced to the bag form a coworker and with me looking for a waterproof bag i went a head and got one. Fast shipping. Came in day 9/10 out of 8-12 days. Bag is super big and can fit 3 top, trousers, 4 days worth of underwear, journal, IPad and still had some room for a 1lt water bottle. If you are on the fence I would 100% get one.
One thing I would about the bag is to add some more storage options. I know I can get the tech pouch. But just a few extra pockets on the inside

Only thing I have a question on is if the pocket on the side is waterproof . I am scared to completely slow this to be submerged simply because of that Pocket. Other wise everything about this pack is superb

As a photographer on the road in crazy weather situations, this backpack fulfils all my weather protection needs. I find most backpacks too wide and don’t sit well on my shoulders - however, the Project 8020 is just perfect…

I put pannier hold in the straps and they’ve been the best panniers I’ve had for my bike. I also took one hiking last weekend loaded full of water and the weight distribution was supreme.

After many years of relying on a courier-style bag for daily errands, I decided that I'd like to try out a backpack of similar volume and I came across Expedition Units in online ads. After sifting through products from various manufacturers, I settled on the 8020. In my brief experience with it so far, I've found it a nearly perfect fit for my needs.

It can expand to a larger volume than my courier bag but when rolled down tight, it's quite compact. Internal organizer features are few but still sufficient to hold a tablet/laptop, wallet, phone, and a couple of pens, and there's a keyring leash, as well. The flattened rectangular shape of the main compartment packs contents in snugly and maintains a low profile against your body. I haven't used the external zip pocket but it's available for situations where you aren't concerned about pick-pockets.

The strap and back pad system are very comfortable and while I would have liked to have a waist strap for heavier loads, that's probably a little bit beyond the intended design and function of this pack. So far, the existing harness has worked just fine for me. The top loop and side handle are great additional features.

For years, I've been a fan of the klettersack design with just a top opening and no zippers. It doesn't lend itself readily to quick opening and closing and with the 8020's roll top, the process is a bit more cumbersome. However, I haven't found it a deal-breaker when running errands at multiple stops. Because the mouth of the compartment stays open and the bag sits upright on the floor, it's just about as convenient as any bag that I've owned. I haven't tested its waterproofness but I feel confident that it'll be ready to protect my belongings when the rain falls.

This bag is super durable and is a great asset on long hikes, caving adventures, you name it. It also looks really cool and tactical. I love it! I’ve dragged it over sharp rocks, mud, etc and it has held up well with no punctures. Matteo and his team are warm and accommodating and prompt to resolve any issues. I can’t thank them enough for their support. If you’re an avid adventurer, who needs a dependable bag, get this one!

This backpack is well designed especially for the price. I would sooner have a dry bag type of closure system for the top. The velcro is annoying and difficult to line up when you fill the bag. Otherwise it is well designed, it holds my Microsoft surface securely on the inside and all of my workout gear when I'm riding my bike.

This was my second purchase from this company. I needed a backpack that was waterproof for cycle commuting, large enough for my laptop, lever arch file and notebook. I also wanted it to be comfortable and adjustable. What i got was a bag that was even more comfortable than I anticipated, entirely waterproof and well made. It also looks cool. I have had a number of compliments. I thought it was expensive, but if it meets my criteria (and it exceeds it), then I am happy to pay for it. I would certainly buy again, and I had really done a great deal of research of similar products. The company also genuinely cares that you are happy with the product, too many larger and more established companies don't show this care. I am very happy to recommend.

This is a well built and beautiful looking bag. Very pleased with the purchase. It’s amazing the amount of items you can fit into this bag.

I used it for the first time this past weekends I loved it. I love the quality of it. I love the color of it. And I love that fact that it was made keeping our environment in mind. Amazing product.

Love love love the backback. Huge upgrade from the previous version, I already loved and used daily.
It‘s a bit smaller than the old version but is enough for most cases.
The field bag and the cam cube fit inside perfectly.

I have tried too many different types and there is always something that I don’t like about them; this one is super comfortable on your back and fits perfectly; at the beginning fells kind of big but after a few days you get used to it. Now it’s my everyday backpack. Lot of compliments at work… good job guys!
