Plastic for Rice: a new way to educate and make an impact

"Within every crisis lies an opportunity"

This was the mindset of Tabanan (Bali-Indonesia) -native, I Made Janur Yasa, when he asked himself how he could help his village amidst the pandemic.

The idea became clear — “Plastic for Rice.” A sustainability movement that empowers communities to change their waste behavior through dignity-based exchange systems that result in cleaner, healthier environments.

If you have purchased or will purchase one of our products at Expedition / Units, you will provide direct help to the Plastic Exchange association, which takes care of cleaning the island of plastic and at the same time supplying rice to the population and supporting local farmers, creating a virtuous circle of circular economy.

Here you can see a video in which their activity and mission is explained in more detail.
